Sungai Lembing is home to the largest network of underground tin mines in the world. If all the cross-cut subterranean tunnels were put together, their combined length would be 322km! The network reaches an incredible depth of 700m at the Myah/Mayah shaft, its deepest mine. Despite this, it is unable to lay claim to the title of deepest mine. That honour goes to the Dolcoath mines in Cornwall, UK with a depth of 1000m. Sg Lembing however, has a far more extensive tunnel network due to the ocurrence of its tin lodes, which are wider and more evenly distributed than those of the Cornish tin mines. DID YOU KNOW? At 322km, the total tunnel length in Sg Lembing, Pahang is more than the distance from Kuantan, Pahang to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.

El Dorado of the East. Nice walk into the longest tin mine tunnel in the world. So many history fact posted along the tunnel wall. Don't miss out to read it. We need to know the history!

Interesting place with over 100 years of history. Sadly not much artefacts of items on display to engage visitors. Just a short ride into the mine with an old mining train and then a short walk inside with stories along the tunnel. Besides there is not much to see inside the tunnel. No tour guide at all, not sure if it is bcos of MCO lock down. Could hv done it up better with historical and interactive displays. Most would find it boring except the fact it is the longest combined subterranean tunnel in the world at 322km.

Best historical place to visit. Unfortunately the muzium closed during our visit. Only the Tunnel open for operation.

Malaysia was built on tin mines and rubber. This place could have been better restored to be a top class tourists attraction and also for education purpose. It's part of our heritage, Right now only minimal effort to keep this place going. This place deserve better attention

It's a great place to visit and learn about history of mining in Sungai Lembing. The place is well preserved with the original mining equipments and environment. You can even try out some of it.
