Across this border when visiting Kuching for a purpose. Supervision is not too strict, and not many guards. It is recommended to go here not too late. And make sure that luggage is not left at the checkpoint. #batulocalguides #letsguide

I'm very disappointed with the service. There are no officers to be found at 5.20PM (Malaysian time) while the information in google said it closed at 6PM (the closing time has been confirmed by the security). There's some officers inside the office but none of them are willing to help us, they even ignored us when we knocked at the building and then they went straight to home before the closing time, leaving us dumbfounded without any choice. The situation turned hopeless after the gate back to Indonesian border was closed 10 minutes, again, before the closing time. We went through the gate with the help of the local people after the security can't open the gate for us and even told us to climb the gate back to Indonesian border. Thankfully, after went through Malaysian border gate, we don't have to climb another gate; the Indonesia Immigration officers are patiently manned their gate for us through the Indonesian border back to Entikong. My one star rating could never affect the border service, I even doubt any of the officer would read this review, I just wrote this review as a reminders to other visitors to not expect too much from this place. The officers won't have any obligation to servicing us in their job (well, what do you expect from bunch of people who can't even read their own time), after all, it's us who needed the stamp on our passport, not them. So yeah, it'll be your fault if you come to the border before the closing time but then they decided it is their time to go home earlier that day. It's just your fault, no one would take the responsibility for your carefully planned time to cross the border that day.

This place is a letdown. Border suppose to close at 18.00, we arrived at 17.20 and found no one to stamp our passport. One helpful Malaysian security tried to help us, but the immigration officers are nowhere to be seen. We saw some people inside the office and tried to knock doors and windows, but they peeked thru the blind and ignored us. And they closed the gate behind us 15 minutes before the closing time! After we got stuck in Malaysian side of the border for more than an hour without being unable to re-cross the border back to Indonesia, some locals helped us get back to the neutral zone, and Indonesian officers patiently manned the gate after-hours specifically so we can cross back. Well Malaysian Border Control officers, really? This is first time in my life I've been told by any border officers "now you have to scale the gate to get to the other side, sorry". Malaysians border officers leave a lot to be desired from their Indonesian counterparts. We sincerely hope that the service could improve as we cross the border regularly and this particular border is lifeblood for hundreds of thousands of people.
