Kuching Festival 2018 Kuching Festival, a yearly event which is really HYPED up is something one should never miss Lasting for an ENTIRE month, you will get an extravagant array of various local cuisines, with an artistic personal touch of creativity; fried milk curds, Urumqi-style grilled lamb cubes, and everything under Sarawak's sun you can imagine of. Live performances are held daily throughout the entire event. It has such fun vibes, I'd just go there even if I were full, purely for the experience. Sadly, the last time Kuching Fest was held was in 2019. Ever since then, the pandemic has caused this festival to cease for the time-being. These photos were taken as part of our pre-wedding photoshoot, very much thanks to the creativity of Gabriel Diong & Julieann Ragojo, two family friends. Reminiscing on such lovely memories, I wonder when we will be able to have such an experience again..

Wow, what an extra ordinary food fair! Although it was humid and hot, the attraction of vast varieties of food certainly pay off. Well deserved to be most well known event of Sarawak Kuching for almost 15 years till now. One need to have an empty stomach, discipline enough to resist the temptation of buying too many and eat too much too early that regretted when seeing more attractive food all the way till the end. It make one think may be it is better to plan few visits and taste till full satisfaction!

Very happening and have a lot of people and local foods there! I think kids must be happy to see many interesting decorations being put up either.

To many to choose tho a bit pricey for food. Good place to hang out at night. It closes to early. Maybe better to close at midnight or 1am. People like to drink late into the night. Drive safe with sober friends or take a grab.

Kuching Food Fest 2019 First day: Homemade popsicle stall 宝儿冰棒 at the end opposite sports ground (where people are usually lazy to walk to) RM3-4 only, good. Pork burger stall Holy Burger RM8-10 is good too. Rice roll stall I visit every year too, price maintained this year. Props. Getting more and more pricy. As of 4 dumplings for RM6, 4 fishballs for RM5, 1 taiwan sausage RM3.50. Not surprising to find RM10-15 for more filling food. More expensive than better food at coffee shops. Food getting more generic - cheese, boba, fried, dairy, bbq... Beware of marketing gimmicks and overpriced stalls.

This year more stalls and bigger crowd than before. We arrived at 6:15pm, found a parking space nearby. And still plenty of seats. But around 7pm, crowd getting bigger, very limited seats available. Some food price a bit expensive but some are reasonable: lamb satay @ rm1 per stick, Taiwan sausage @ rm3 per stick and rm10 for 4, oyster omelette @ rm10 per piece, drinks @ rm2.50 per cup. Other than food stalls, there are also other stalls: property, kids toy, clothes, telcos, mobile phone, gadgets and many more.
