At the summit of Bung Mako there is a small chapel. St. Paul. They are undergoing renovation and just like Singai in the past, they place concrete slabs at the foot of the hill at the beginning of the trail for you to help carry it up. I carry one up all the way till the chapel. This is a delayed review, the last I went was in May 2019, so the renovation had not started back then and I wonder what stage it is in now, or if has even started. When we visited the chapel is still quite simple in appearance. The hike was pleasant, with proper trail. I consider this one as a breezier hikes for weekends that you don't want to exert yourself that much. Of course, that also depends on your level of fitness. there is simple seating at the chapel with the statue of Jesus and Mary. The last time I pass by the area (after my initial hike around Apr 2021) I can't see the signage indicating the junction to go to the trail anymore- I spotted the signage actually kept at someone's house, a house by the side of the main highway. I do not know whether there is restriction for visitors due to Covid, but as it is a church it is best to try to find out. When we were hiking up there there was no one in charge of the trail, though I am not sure now. Would definitely like to go to hike there again, but I guess I will wait till the cases are lower and restrictions relaxed. Hope they will still allow non church-going visitors to visit there, because it is such a relaxing pleasant hike for me.
