What an experience in Bata Paradigm Mall yesterday. Had visited a doctor in the afternoon due to my daughter's ailing foot. The doctor asked to purchase a wedges type of shoe immediately for a temporary relief before seeing the orthopedic surgeon. So we went to Bata Paradigm Mall and it was good to find quite a number of wedges shoes and designs. We had to try many shoes as to accomodate to my young daughter's foot condition. So after a while, came this lady, I assumed that she is the head staff, informed me that I had tried 5 times number of tries and that is the maximum limit of tries. So, I asked, "tak boleh cuba dah yang lain"? She looked at me and said, "Tak boleh" and went off to the cashier table. Just as we had finally chosen our shoes , I had to ask one of the staff to take another size. He was quite reluctant and went to talk to the head staff. I assumed he was asking for approval. Had to wait a while until I got it. Upon paying, I told the head staff the reason why we had to go through many tries. She said, "Oh, saya perlu nak cakap sebab kami kena ikut SOP." Then, my husband said to me. "There's no point talking to the staffs, you need to bring it up to the Bata management". The head staff said "ya boleh, takda masaalah, silakan". Being cynical, eh? Nothing about SOP was mentioned earlier. Better still, why not put up a notice board outside for all customers to see. If the head staff had talked to me in a polite way, I would not have felt so bad. If she had a different approach , I would not mind a bit. But the way it went, I felt that we were just a nuisance to them. If not for my daughter and a long, long day, I would have walked right out of the shop. By the way, I called Bata IOI mall, Puchong today. According to them, they do not have any such thing as limit number of tries. There is NO LIMIT. So what does this tells you? SOP siapa nih? Darn.

Management of Bata Paradigm, please get rid of one of your rude staff. Malay girl wearing tudung who was unfriendly and unaccommodating. A simple question can be answered with a nice tone and no need for cynical tone rude way of answering. It is because of the fasting month of Ramadan that we bear more patience. Otherwise I would have bashed her face for the rudeness and unprofessionalism. Bata clean up your act if you want to keep repeat customers. Definitely the last time we'll be buying from this Bata, or even any Bata for that matter. Your customer service is in a dire state. Take note.
