Not suitable for elderly, kids in strollers or those with chronic knee pain, asthmatics or other lung and heart conditions. Colmar Tropical hotel guests could get a free shuttle from the hotel but the shuttle stops at the bottom of the hill. Theres around 88 stairs where you have to climb up but thats not it. After the stairs comes the journey uphill on foot. Otherwise the landscape of the place is just so soothing and serene. The sounds of the jungle and the rivers are just to-die-for. Here you can rent kimono form RM20 for adult, lesser price for kids too. Theres spa, cafe and botanical garden situated just opposite to the japanese tea garden entrance. This is the first japanese tea garden in a forest in the world!

For me, not a fascinating place instead of just having a view and to know how Japanese style garden with some tatami designed house / ryokan were looks like and built. not really suitable for elderly as the car was not allowed to enter the pathway to the garden. Everyone either need to walk up about 15'c steepness of tar road or climb up to about 40 steps of staircase to reach the Japanese garden. I am just love to have a walk in the Botanical Garden. A bit disappointed as the Japanese Restaurant was closed due to full reservation even there were few seats outside of the Japanese Garden. Cooks should take order from the customer who has reached the restaurant before the customers who made reservation arrive.

Nice place to be at. One of the wonders that you need to be at. At 3.5km above sea level, the japanese tea house and its attractions are one of the best places to be at and a view to die for. Walk around and fascinate yourself with the lush of the japanese culture and plants. The place is totally decorated to mimic a small japanese village up in the mountains. You may consider to add a massage and have tea while absorbing the atmosphere. A wonderful place to unwind and relax.. but jz a word of caution. Do be very careful on ur way up n down, especially the steps, as it is slippery since the place is confirmed wet.
