The Kaya Kok here is drier and more flaky and probably uses a flaky pastry dough rather than Sin Eng Heong's puff pastry variant. This combined with the lightly sweet kaya filling lends to a snack that isn't overbearing. The Egg Tarts here also uses a more layered flaky pastry shell surrounding a egg custard which isnt too sweet and is texturally firmer yet retaining a little gooeyness in the centre. Both do not keep well or warm up well in an oven, so they are best enjoyed at the shop or immediately within 1-2 hours while still warm.
