Unfortunately we came during the transition of the menu. The food selections that were available was limited for my food restriction. The restaurant was cozy with a view of the Ipoh skyline. Service was pretty good. Food was good too. The cocktail could be improved.

Nice ambience with soft music playing in the background. Indoor and outdoor seating available but advisable to book in advance. Food that we ordered all tasted quite good especially the Burnt Prawn Pasta. Desserts are from Être Patisserie. Friendly and helpful staff who explained and introduced the dishes in the menu.

A little cosy cafe with delicious food. Price wise at the high side. Love the ambiance and service.

An absolute gem with stunning view at rooftop oversees the entire Ipoh Old Town. This unique and unconventional gastrobar, perched its elevated height above ground and most prominently on the rooftop of a hipster hotel and an old historical building once home to Ipoh’s busiest banks. The ambience is nailed with a stylish and non-fussy but very thoughtfully put together combination of polished concrete, open air and enclosed glass spaces, filled with beautiful greeneries and lighting. They let the radiant sunset take pride of place before switching to gentle fairy lights. Desserts are from Être Patisserie. Friendly and helpful staff.

Went there for lunch on a Sunday. Not many choices of food on the menu... Pick the cheapest main dish - truffle chicken (rm35) as we never plan to eat too premium food (the rest of the mains are rm40 above). Truffle chicken - is not like usual chicken chop/stuffed chicken roll... Is just chicken meat but rearranged into a cone shape. Sprinkle with generous amount of truffle powder and abalone sauce. Seems premium and healthy, but not tasty... Pork burger (rm25) - too much mayonnaise, can't even taste the pork patty. I heard good review from my friends before i came to try. After my own first try, things just not fit with what my friends' recommend... Maybe their management team changed?

Perched on the rooftop of an old, historical building once home to Ipoh’s busiest banks is this unique, unconventional gastrobar that is ‘atas’ in several ways; from its innovative, novel dishes to its elevated height above ground and most prominently, its name Above Gastrobar. Behind every dish is a painstaking process of meticulous planning, experimentation and refinement. An outstanding, creative take of the locally-inspired rendang is their duck ragout pasta. Don’t be easily deceived by its rather dry and unsophisticated appearance as a fork was enough to blow my tastebuds. Every spoonful was a blazing fire of mouthwatering flavours with every single smooth, springy strand richly infused with intense, pungent spices. Looking unmistakably South East Asian from its Sichuan style dressing and the jiggly pristine white block of silken tofu; there’s actually more beyond what the naked eye perceives. The luscious pork trotter with its glistening lacquered skin underwent the trending sous vide method for the first half before finishing it off with the traditional Chinese braise to achieve the desired tenderness and flavour.

Very nice place, with choices of in and outdoor seating. Good view across the train station. Ordered a few dishes but the risotto, steak and the lamb really stood out. Everything compliments each ingredients nicely. A very satisfying meal.
