This charity collects library books in good condition from International schools in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia, and dispatches them to resource-poor schools in Nepal. This year is the first year that books are also being sent to Sabah . The amount of books has increased considerably – from 252 kg to 0ver 3000 kg. Twenty two schools in the Hetauda area of Makwanpur district have been supplied. Sixteen of these schools have had libraries set up . The library furniture is locally sourced. The teachers and student librarians catalogue the books and shelve them appropriately. Doreen accompanies the boxes every year and over her two months there supports the management and use of the books. She organizes brings the teachers together to take part in demonstration workshops. The ethos of Book Reach suggests that the project will continue to expand.
