The most popular landmark in Bau town and become one of tourist attractions. No1. The pitcher plants on top means it is a very unique species and can be found on the fringes of forests. No2. The statue of gold mining is there a story about the huge gold mine in Bau that time, but later it turns into a blue lake and also in Malay name Tasik Biru.

Great place to visit, travel & adventure
From a small town with just few rows of 2 Storey shophouses made from planks, Bau has definitely progress fast since the fire which destroyed most of the shophouses in the mid 70s. Bau has a General hospital, Police station and Fire Brigade and a Community college within reach. There are few commercial banks operating in this town, such as Maybank, AmBank and BSN. Few Supermarkets like Ming Ming supermarket, Unaco and Beishi supermarket also can be found here in the center of town. There are a few medical clinics operating here. Food courts and cafe are easily available. Even KFC and Marybrow have their branches here. I must say Bau town has developed so much in the span of time. Few days ago I saw the luminous signboard " SELAMAT DATANG KE BANDAR BAU" being erected by the side of Bau - Kuching road, just in front of the Shell Station Will Bau gain the Township title soon? I very much hope so.

I love this authentic ex- good mining town. There are some great eating places and all the people are very friendly. The market is buzzing. Near by there are some tourist attractions like the Fairy cave and Wind cave. Superb.
