Pork noodle looks different from the earlier review. Soup is very heavy on MSG and i find it too salty & lacks flavor, not so generous on meat, only 1 slice lean meat with few tiny pieces minced meat (requested to exclude organs&pork ball), no pork lard given. Minced meat has a funny taste perhaps not fresh.Teh is below average. Tried the namyu pork pau & vegetable pau, so so, nothing to shout about. Revisit to try hakka mee. Taste was ok but they forgot minced meat until i approach the stall and ask for it and is not even busy/peak hour.

While everyone is here for the pau,, my family likes coming here for the dishes at night. Most importantly the portion is huge and the price is reasonable. The dishes taste pretty good too. The only downside is the unpleasant smell from the drainage, but for the price they could offer, not gonna complain much.

Located near the flats buildings, Wai Kwan has been serving delicious food to the area for many years. My last visit was as a student five years ago, and all the memories came flooding back as soon as I entered the compound. The bao is fresh in delicious, but the pan mee is plain and lackluster. It is worse than average. Please order the char siew hakka mee. It is exceptionally delicious, and I have to get MORE the next time I go there.

Love the steam bun and yong tau foo there. Both very authentic.

One thing unique about this kopitiam/ dai chow is that their servings are way larger than the rest, at a lower cost! Bottomless rice and drinks (tea/ water) are served in tall cups. Taste-wise, so-so but very economical for large groups. What you see below are the dishes in small sizes! Take note, large crowds during dinner time so waiting is expected.

This place serves delicious handmade pau. You can see the pau maker in action from kneading the pau until steaming it for us to enjoy. I personally enjoy the pau here.

(Feb 2021) (1) Pau (dumpling) at New Paradise Restaurant Stall The char siew pau, nam yue pau and siew mai were splendid though not earthshaking. The total cost was RM10.40 (6 Feb 2021). The wrapping of the pau was thin so the amount of fillings was generous. The char siew filling was juicy and bursting with flavours though a little less sweet would be preferable. The siew mai (three pieces) wasn’t starchy like those served in some other restaurants (starch added to reduce cost of meat ). Chewing on the meat and fat drew out its full flavour. Food available at pau stall (source: food reviews) - char siew pau - mui choy pau - nam yue pork pau - chicken curry pau - kung po chicken pau - red bean pau - lotus paste pau - kaya pau - custard pau - siew mai (2) Pan Meen Stall The noodle tasted like in any other stall as it was just plain flour. There were three types of noodle strands to choose from – large flat strips, small strips and small rounded strands. However, the soup was the one that made the difference. Here the soup was marvelous – full of yummy anchovy flavour and aroma. The noodle came with a little bit each of minced pork, mushroom. Ikan bills, romaine lettuce, sliced pork, fu chuk and two pork balls, Cost RM6.50 per bowl. (3) Hakka Mee Stall The Hakka mee was satisfactory with a generous amount of noodle given. Cost RM6.50 per bowl.
