I made a photochomic glasses at focus point Rawang at tesco. It cost me rm1950 with a promotion, free reading glasses. It was essilor branded lenses and i thot worth it since it can last long. I was very happy with both spectacles at the beginning. But after nearly a year both lenses have serious coating crack and causing problem when i use them, it cause glare & headache when i use them. So i returned them to focus point. They replaced new lenses for my photocromic spec but not the reading spec. So the reading spec become a trash just after a year. Cannot use at all. The photochomic lenses crack again and focus point will not replace anymore because no more warranty after a year. What a waste of RM1950 for a spec that can only last a year and cause a lot of problem. My eye power did not change but i can't use the spec anymore because of the coating crack and it disturb my vision. Last time, I made a cheap spec at other optical shop that cost less then rm400 and it lasted until now without any problem with coating and lenses. The only reason i change spec is because power change. So i wonder, are lenses made at focus point will crack after a year?...is this a trick so people will have to make new spec every year? Is there no quality control? How come an expensive branded lenses can only last for a year? They asked me if i uses the spec in hot wheather that can cause coating crack. I asked them while laughing "what is the point if I have a photocromic spec for indoor use only? Why the reading glasses also have the same problem?" . They have no answer and just ask me to make a new spec with a promotion again cost about rm1,000. Of couse I will not fall into the same trick twice. If you produce expensive but poor quality spec, i better go to other optical shop that is cheaper and better quality..
