My family’s go to Chinese restaurant in town. Spacious but bad ventilation. Consider reasonable priced. And foods are quite good.

CMCO - it caused me stranded in my hometown recently. My initial plan was to celebrate my birthday in Klang Valley but due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, I had to stay put to ensure the safety of my family. Oh well.. I had a great birthday albeit a simple one. We spent the whole day together at home. Come dinner.. the other half had booked a table at Ah Fatt Restaurant Raub, one of the oldest and popular restaurants in this town famous for Musang King durian. About 40 minutes drive but it was worth the trip, as the quality of the food made up for the effort. steamed patin - it's not wild patin but man, the meat was sweet (but not as firm as the wild one) without the muddy taste. Coupled with simple, clear yet good quality soy sauce, I couldn't find fault in the fish really. And it cost only RM60! German style deep fried pork knuckle - highlight of the dinner rather than letting the fish took centerstage. Braised until the meat soft and flavourful before deep fried... Everyone was fighting until the last bit of meat on the knuckle. It brought out my carnivorous appetite. Priced higher than the fish at RM80 but it was huge Braised goose web with mushroom, fish cake and bak choy - one of the earliest staple dish in Chinese wedding, this didn't come cheap but the wifey held nothing back. For me, I'd prefer to order something else even though the dish was quite good. Sizzling taufu with egg and minced meat - served still sizzling on the plate, the waitress mixed everything together and we did the eating. Stir fried green dragon vegetable I brought along a bottle of Australian Bordeaux blend to celebrate my birthday dinner which proved to be good pairing with the dishes.

The food is tasty, exactly what you'd expect from a small town Chinese cuisine to be. They're not afraid to hold back on the spices and salt, so be prepared to drink lots of water. Waiter services are okay the people here are generally cheerful. Nice to stop by for a nice meal with the family if you are ever in this town!

A local's favorite restaurant, which our friend took us for lunch. We ordered patin fish, dongbo pork with mantao, vegetables with fuyu, tofu, and steamed kampong chicken. The dishes were cooked perfectly, and we enjoyed our meal. Service was quick and friendly.

This is one of the oldest restaurants in Raub and I remember it from my days as a young boy. A lot of weddings have been held here but to many people, this is one of the best restaurants in Raub. The pating fish was very good. The tapioca (sweet potato) leaves were good with garlic. The yam ring too.

Attending wedding dinner, food is good and somehow special and different from Kuala Lumpur. Should try the local dish, cold chicken.
