Visited in Feb. The Cheng Ho Cultural Museum is a museum dedicated to the great mariner, Cheng Ho, and famous voyages. Broadly, the museum is divided into a biographical section of the life of Cheng Ho, and the remainder to his voyages. The museum goes into great details about the voyages, the organisation of the ships, the planning and control of the fleet and the legacy left behind by the voyages. There are hundreds and possibly thousands of artefacts, some of which are very high quality. This is probably the best museum in Malacca and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone interested in history.

A very educational private collection about the history of chinas Admiral Chen Ho and his contributions to Malacca. The level of valuable information is significant and of great interest to any historically interested persons. It however a lot of Reading and with this some time to spend there is recommended. It’s not a ‚look‘ type of museum. But a great collection of facts and data, very compact and presented in Chinese and English! Enjoy your visit!

If you have time to spare, do visit this 2 storey museum. They keep nice artifacts of old Malacca. The whole tour may take you an hour. Feel free to browse around at the souvenir shop and buy something for people back home. They don't have a curator on call but the lady mending the entry tickets can give explanation about the items displayed.

A nice little museum just off Jonker street. Tells you quite a comprehensive history about Admiral Cheng Ho

I’m surprised to learn that Cheng Ho is a Muslim-Chinese, a great diplomat and voyager and China-Malaya relationship started from Cheng Ho — First Melaka King Parameswara, way back during 1400s. Good place to hang around if you really like history and museum. But some wall poster presentation could be better it’s quite confusing. I only get to connect the story after reading from different display room. If thorough English explanation could be provided it will attract more English- speaking tourist.

Brace yourself, history lovers. Another great museum has been discovered in Melaka. Drop by the museum if you are in Melaka later.
