Attention: this track IS NOT for beginners. You need to be in good shape, have good shoes and gloves. First part of track is easy and nice like walking in the park (from 7 wells pools till last gazebo. From last gazebo till U-turn sigh is a promo part - you can try what you will feel on way to the peak. When you will reach U-turn sign and feel yourself tired - it's a point when you need turn back. Because from that starting the hardest part (1 hour of climbing by rope on stones to the peak). After U-turn track becomes pretty dangerous. The hardest part begins from rock wall (last chance to turn back if you tired). Mostly you literally climbing on rocks helping yourself with rope in Special Forces style lol) Bring water (1.5 litre per person minimum). Don't take kids or elders. If you tracking enthusiast - you will like it. If not - it can be your worst experience on Langkawi.

Took me 2.5 hrs to reach the peak doing it steady and I’m 69 of above average fitness. The track is well marked but quite slippery after a heavy rain over night. Lots of tree roots to break an unwary ankle or two and some leeches to make things exciting. The descent was more difficult than the ascent and painful if your boots are not well strapped to your ankles. The ropes are in good condition and proved very helpful. Carry at least 2L of water and please ignore that idiot who was so proud to post that you can do it without water. Bodoh!

A 701 meter at Gunung Mat Chinchang marks another level of achievement of my hiking journey. It was our first time hiking this beautiful mountain in Langkawi and we were asking hikers that was descending about the journey to the peak. Most of them mention that it will take about 4 hours, after an hour , the other hiker mention is another 3 - 4 hours... We were worried, that we may not arrive the peak. We set our alarm reminder to descend by 2:30pm And my buddy ignited her twin turbo engine, we were hiking at a speed that I have never pace then it started raining heavily too ... finally, it took us 2 hrs 40 minutes (instead it was mention that it will be 4 hours) including short rest to reach the peak and 2 hours to decent to reach the starting point total 4hrs for a 701 meter (my gps show 745 meter as I hike 2 times) & 13000 steps ... Let's do it again... some time again on this beautiful mountain ***please take note Time yourself by 3:30 pm to decent, the mountain is covered by trees, visibility maybe poor Journey is about 6 hours, for standard hikers Medium challenge (is the distance that may challenge hiker stamina, steep hill)

Medium difficulty hike. It took us 2 hours to get to the top and a bit less than 2 hours to get back to the bottom. First half of the hike is easier, the second is steeper but there's a rope to help ascending and (especially) descending. Doable without any water at all, but better bring a bottle or two. Better go in sneakers or hiking shoes, bicycle gloves recommended. If you are lucky, you can spot an eagle from the top.

First half of the trek is easy, second half(with the ropes) steep and kinda moderate to difficult. Take at least 2 liters of water per person with you(MUST) and some nuts. Proper shoes a must and preferably gloves also as you would need to use the ropes to pull yourself on the latter part of the climb. 2 hours ascent, 1.5 hours descent. Even if you are not an experienced hiker but are in reasonable physical condition, this should be no problem. Great view from the top.

This is not for beginners and hiking shoes are a must. You need around 2,5 hours to get to the top - and the view is worth it. Way down is around 2 hours. So watch the time before sunset. If you reach the part with the rope and find it hard to climb and you are already tired - be proud of yourself you got there but stop here. The next part is the harder one. I recommend this trail very much, as you can see the different vegetation along this jungle trail. Watch out for leeches and prepare yourself with enough water.

If you like Indian Jones movies and hiking this is for you. Its not the easy hike. It can take 1h to go up or 2h some people did it in 3h. And about 1.5h go down. Depends on your pace and fitness level.

This is a beautiful short hike. It took me barely 1 hour from 7 wells to the summit. The trail is easy to follow with ropes marking the path (and to assist those who may be unsteady) most of the way. The summit has an amazing view of Langkawi and the surrounding islands. 701m high, according to the sign. If you're lucky the eagles might soar just overhead ️
