Beautiful national park which showcases the best of Sarawak's flora & fauna. Their main attraction is the Proboscis monkey which if you are lucky are just hanging out outside the cafeteria! Apart from that, there are the silverhair monkeys, wild boars, viper & others to spot. A boat ride away from the mainland, I would recommend taking a local guide who can show you the trails & explain what you are seeing. We went for a quick 1 day trip and absolutely loved the short 2 hour trail walk. We arrived at the jetty around 9am and got back around 330pm back in Kuching city!

Wonderful place. The National Park itself is more than worth it, the accommodation is okay, the cafeteria is okay-ish. They do have beer at fair prices, though. I recommend staying two nights to have time to see most of the animals, participate in the night walk and do more than one short trek instead of rushing it all and missing most during a day trip. The proboscis monkeys for example only came out after all the day visitors were gone. The guided night walk was a unique experience.

a must do! saw so much wildlife. love the beaches right next to the jungle. My boyfriend and I love hiking so having the beaches to rest at between hikes was perfect. We stayed for two nights. Stay overnight if it all possible and do a night walk!

Sited on very narrow land. Parking is a huge problem. Road very narrow compounded by illegal parking on roadsides. Should relocate to better site further upstream or downstream

This is just the ferry jetty where you will disembark upon arriving. It sits on an intertidal mangrove forest, the view is spectacular for landscape photos during sunrise and sunset. It is 10 minutes walk away from Bako National Park HQ - Telok Assam and you will pass along the different lodges they have on the way there. Be extra careful if you have plastic bags of food with you as there are a few long-tailed macaques in this boardwalk. If you are on a day trip, last ferry trip back is at 3PM.

This park has several routes for different touristic levels. You can use a travel from 40 min and more... On the route you'll have a great jungle views and if you a lucky - some animals too. Nice place for relax and possibility for stay face to face with the wild nature.
