Water features are good The mini mossy 'forest' is quite unique. Kimono rental is available for RM25 each. The hike to the Japanese Garden is quite tough for those with leg problems. A slow hike is recommended for these people.

Had temps taken on arriving in Colmar. Then at Japanese Garden rather rude young staff insist temp should be taken again (after we'd traversed 80 plus stairs and then steep path), after which we're instructed to have compulsory photo taken. No signage about EMCO SOPs at all. In the end we refused what appeared a forced picture session. Many visitors not wearing masks or wearing chin mask styke. Put some signage up as to SOP practices. So far high entry fee is not worth while.

The garden so small but very beautiful and very calm with a running stream like a small waterfall and Japanese Koi fish (You can buy the palette to give to the fish in the pond)as well as the renting of Kimono for those who likes to dress up like the traditional Japanese for a photo shoots Not suitable for physically impaired / Old folks / Pregnant woman to climb up 88 stairs and climb up again to reach the garden. Beware of snakes, scorpions and others Before you climb up to the garden, the staff will ask you to wait and they will take a picture for you as a procedure for them. When you came down, they will approach you and ask you whether you want to buy or not. for the picture - 20MYR, if you take the picture and the keychain it will be 30MYR (for me it’s quite expensive without any effect. Just a plain picture printed out) Also, one can take a shuttle bus from Colmar Tropicale/French town to this garden for free, have to wait around 10 - 15 minutes. If you have car you can drive to here, You have sufficient parking, I don’t think it’s tough to get parking. This are the few snaps what i took over there.

The place was beautiful and perfect destination for a getaway. However, it's best doing it when it's not the peak season. It was too crowded when I was there and I found out most of the facilities were closed down. The maintenance wasn't good and could see rubbish being thrown into the fish pond. I love the idea of having people to try out kimono as part of the attraction, but I think there should more than that. I expected to have some intro of the Japanese culture by someone or info board but i could find none of them. I really hope much more considerations to be put into this aspect in the future.

A quaint place which calms you immediately. The attempt to create a Japanese garden is appreciable and boulders and the streams of water add authenticity. That the place is 3500 ft above sea level helps. The place is a veritable treat to nature lovers.

Good nature and natural views around but very limited Japanese theme you can see in it.
