Came here many times a couple of years back, this time around it’s still fantastic and the food is as good as it was before. The Salted Egg Crab, Portuguese Baked Fish, Butter Prawn, and Chilli Crab is tasty! The mudcrabs is the highlight of the place, and good service by Daphne and her team. Would definitely come back here again sometime soon. You can also whatsapps message them and they’re very responsive! I also did a video review on YouTube and will share it soon! Kudos! Also very beautiful scenery at the jetty!

First remark has nothing to do with number 10 but just for everyone's reference before coming: be prepared to have 5-8 people following you and yelling at you to go to their stalls the moment you get of your car. Just ignore them and go straight to stall number 10. This is why I would recommend stall number 10. We went on a weekday and got the opportunity to speak to the co-owner Daphne and got to understand the whole history about their business. We were able to understand how the business was handed down (3 generations) and how the food is 100% genuinely Portuguese (the owners and families are all of Portuguese descent). We also learned that Daphne's husband goes out to the sea to fish for the seafood (super impressive!). Now about the food.. I highly recommend trying a fish dish (we tried siakap) with Portuguese baked cooking style. The sauce is made from scratch with real Portuguese ingredients. Do expect a wait for the fish cause they only cook it upon order, unless you want it sashimi style ;) but seriously the fish is so fresh and the sauce is something I've never had before its just so so good. The best ikan Bakar I've ever had. We opted for lala cooked in ginger and chili. The broth was so sweet! The lalas were juicy and fresh, yums! Lastly we tried the brinjal with black pepper. Highly recommended as it is really unique, not something you can get anywhere else. I loved it! Lastly I just wanna add that business owners who run f&b outlets like these do go through a lot to put good food for their customers, so try to be more understanding, patient and friendly to them as well! Ask them for their recommended catch as well :)

Best restaurant in the Portuguese Settlement. Of course the food only resembles the actual Portuguese food but the owners can still speak Portuguese even though it's a 3rd generation restaurant. Highly recommended. The place is wrong in Google maps. The place is in the docks

Diablos Tan

For those who love sea food and beach breeze this is the place to go at Melaka. Located at the famous Portuguese Settlement, they served ikan bakar or grilled fish ala Portuguese. There are a few stall here to choose from but i personally will recommend Stall No 2 as their cooking is much better. The ingredients they use seafood is very fresh. Pricing wise i could say it is moderate around Melaka area. Would recommend you guys to go on normal days and not public holidays as the price might be different base on the season.

the food was nice but just that its not spicy enough although we request for extra spicy. the service was in a polite manner. but i have to tell that please make your mind on where to eat at portugese settlement. this is because it was super annoying . they litterally followed us just right behind and forced us to eat in their restaurant as there are several. this J&J handled professionally but restaurants beside them were super annoying.
