#TipsForTrips : The route from island to mainland terminal is free, but a very affordable RM1.20 for passengers returning from mainland to island. The decades old ferry service connecting Penang Island to mainland Butterworth remains a leisurely way to travel. Although it has improved, more can be done to ensure accessibility to the elderly and physically challenged clients. Hopefully the soon to be opened Penang Sentral will ease connectivity and accessibility between various transportation modes. Even though the ferry itself is only 20 minutes, give yourself ample time if you are catching a scheduled bus or train because the waiting can be longer than half an hour.
