Dered Krian aka Gunung Gajah is the hill that you can see as the backdrop of Tasik Biru. It is the 'head' of a range with a few summits, which include the place where goldminers got killed. To reach the trail, follow the signage to the Chinese temple by Tasik Biru. The summit offers a clear view over Bau town, Taiton and the road leading up to Krokong. The trail could be a bit challenging as it is covered by loose rocks. I could only imagine the trail getting a bit damaged as this place gets more popular; as more people hiking means more of the rock that hold the trail would be displaced. The beginning of the trail is a bit muddy and you will pass by a small lake. The beginning of the trail is behind a Hakka-Dayak family house and is marked by a signage. It is good to park at the Chinese temple and walk towards the trail as the road near the trail is narrow- please don't block people's road. The trail is getting a bit popular as there were other groups that went up when we were there. It is gazetted as a national park, but I don't think it is actively maintained, so hike at your own risk. There is no registration or fees for now. The trail is pretty straightforward once you are on it, you go straight up and then make a left turn towards the summit. The trail nearing the summit can be a bit dangerous and there are parts that you need to climb the limestone. There are some ladder to help you up the summit but do be careful- one wrong step you will fall without anything to soften your drop. Please keep it clean and hike responsibly. Let's keep the place good for everyone.

There are few trails leading up. The uploaded are trail to Bukit Doya (Dered Sikuk) from Kampung Seromah, Bau. The event was to open a clear path up the hill, and bless the land.
