Nice to do trekking but trek is not maintained and lots of fallen trees. For short cut to the peak, just follow yellow painted 'out' around the trees to and fro. Some mud trek is slippery so do wear shoes.

5 things about Jungle Trekking Taman Tumbina Bintulu 1. The name : This is a jungle trekking trail and is different from "Taman Tumbina Bintulu" (aka "Taman Tumbina Zoo" in Google Maps) which is a botanical and zoological park 5 minutes walk away. The two places are next to each other but not connected. 2. Where's the start point? Nothing much online to show first time visitors where the entry point is. First note that there is only one way in and out. The entrance is directly opposite the Imperial Suites Bintulu. Tip: The Entry Point is at the pin "Jungle Trekking Taman Tumbina Bintulu" on Google Maps. 3. What to wear? It would be good to wear proper trekking shoes or at least sports shoes although I saw one in slippers and another in leather shoes. You'll definitely need a towel - I unfortunately forgot mine, a mini disaster. And water of course. The trees provide quite a bit of shade on a sunny day. Not many mosquitoes to bug you. 4. Signages: There is a map at the entry/exit point but it's not of much use because there's just only one signage - Tupai Junction - that I saw. Supposed to have more signages from the internet photos I saw dating a few years back. Perhaps they have collapsed over the years. 5. Try to avoid going on a rainy day. There are already many slippery patches on a sunny day. Terrain is undulating but manageable. NB: For birders, bad news. I could hear but never did see any birds. Not one that I could snap a shot. The only flying creatures I saw were butterflies and dragonflies

Best place to do hiking and explore the natural surrounding. The place was badly damaged by thunderstorm back in 2015. After debris was cleared, some route were still blocked by fallen trees.

So, this place is managed by Taman Tumbina. Almost unrecognizable unless you go near it. The entrance gate is dated back since its first existence i guess. No maintenance at all. Look at the photos i provide the signboard is old and rusty and dated back to 2002. Some maintenance needs to be done here dear BDA.
