Best surf school to come for any first timer. Thanks to Zairil the owner who manages all our logistics. Hafiz our surf instructor, he picks the suitable waves for beginners. Is good to take their surf package so, you don't need to worry about your food & stay, JUST FOCUS ON YOUR SURF & ENJOY!

Great place for beginner.
I am a true beginner but could stand up here. The lessons of all staff are excellent. In particular, Mr. Rengga was clear in English and I could understand properly even for me who is not good at English. It is a pity that the lesson season is limited, but if you want to start surfing, I recommend you to go here. It will short cut the extra road.
I took 2 lessons with Cherating point surf school on the last weekend of 2019. The first lesson they taught us the posture on the board and how to jump on the board for surfing and later take us to the sea. The coach will position themselves at an area of the beach and we will take turn to be push by them with selected wave to practice jumping on the board. I managed to ride on some wave and are incredibly happy. The coach also gave me suggestion with each surf. The second lesson, however, was a disappointment. We didn't get any new information/learning about the surf but do the same practice as the first lesson...don't feel like worthy of paying for it. As a newbie of surfing, I certainly do expect more knowledge and information required on how to paddle better/catch a wave/etc from the school instead of merely let us practice from the service of selecting/pushing off the wave by the coach.

Such a great surf school. My girlfriend and I are both beginners (had never surfed before) and thanks to the great instructors we were able to catch some good waves! The owners are really friendly, helpful and kind. Additionally, Cherating is a nice laid back beach town where everyone knows eachother. I would recommend this place to everyone that wants to learn to surf.
Definitely agree with Rayne's review. Wish I saw this earlier. They are rude, arrogant and unapologetic. Sarcastic and look down at any other surfers ability. They seem to think they are the best surfers in the world, clearly not. Did not have any sportsmanship at all. Inability to tell the surf condition or share local beach waves conditions. Definitely do look for other surf shack around this area or bring your own board.
A arrogant owner Mr Zairil which is not welcoming on surf board rental where he just brush us off by saying he don’t borrow board to people who don’t surf when he know we have said we surf in Bali and first time in cherating to surf. Moreover he would not even share more on the waves condition and keep saying he don’t know. What an answer don’t know about waves condition when he is the surf coach. What on earth to meet such people, surfer should be more welcoming on waves and local surf condition. Moreover, he drove his jeep and tease us that we have to carry our own surfboard to the surf point as we chose to rent the surfboard from other surf school. Highly suggest surfer who want to rent board or take surf lesson go to “kam surf shack” just located along the beach. Just give them a call and they will direct you to their nice shack.
