Went again yesterday, on Merdeka. According to the uncle selling the tickets for the ferry to the island of Pulau Kukup, Merdeka 2020 has been the record amount of visitors visiting Pulau Kukup. One the best national parks of Malaysia. The national parks of Malaysia are known for their mangrove trees, and this one's definitely the most unique one, being located on a island on the Malacca Straits, a common trade pathway since the times of Portuguese. The track for visitors to walk on by itself is small, though it's able to fill a 1 hour - 1 hour and a half for a lovely walk through the nature safely. There's a viewing tower under maintenance currently, another tower that's old, but is still usable if properly climbed. The ferry fees from jetty to island is RM 6 two ways per adult, and the entrance fees to the island is RM 5 per adult, it's totally possible to visit the jetty at the island without entering the island's national parks. There's a kelong (fish farm?) too. Though the ferry rate is different and I'm unsure. Have a look at my shots available at photos section.

It is good place for student. Tracking walkway is very well designed to access wild Mangrove. Truely natural place.

Very cool remote island. You get to see the floras and founas in the swamp area. Both the Sungai Ular and sea tide are deep and high so don't get yourself into trouble. You need to take a boat to this jetty. For boat fees, please be sure to tell you're M'sian or get charged as Singaporean rate.

Experienced late December high tide phenomenon around 12noon right at Jetty. You have to wait for it to recede before you can walk to the jetty to take boat ride to Kukup Island.

Good for school trip. You can learn more about mangrove forest. But be careful with the monkeys cause they might stole your foods. You can enjoy sight seeing 4 ft.
