I was there some 20 years ago when a house was situated right in the middle of this archeological site. A small drainage for a paddy field exposed lots of cockles’ shells. An exposed mound of shells can be seen between the banana trees. Further towards the road were orchard of pomelos. Today a huge hangar shaded the shells and the 6000 years old lady. A record for Penang to housed a very ancient artefact. (The other ancient artefact is at the compound of St Anne, BM). Treasure it for history reminds us about our past... “Those who do not remember their past are condemned to repeat their mistakes. Those who do not read history are doomed to repeat it. Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of their predecessors are destined to repeat them. Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them” (Googled info).

The gallery was closed when I was there. There was no sign board for opening times or even if the gallery itself was open. There wasn't any information about the gallery or the archaeological site itself, situated outside the fenced off area. I could not see any information signboards inside the area from outside. I was disappointed and felt that I wasted my time and effort and petrol going here.
